At LAMP Community Health Centre we believe in a broad definition of health that includes the social and economic well-being of our community.
The liveability of neighbourhoods, we feel, impacts the health of the larger community; the more liveable the area the better health of our local residents. We believe that community members should be involved in decisions that affect their daily lives. Community development is incorporated into all our health promotion work. To this end, LAMP works
towards the well-being of our community by supporting:
- Public participation in local planning and economic development activities
- Involvement in local environmental initiatives
- Increased communication and partnerships between interest groups and local community associations and,
- Improvement of skills and know-how necessary to effect social change within the community
