Adult LearningAssessment
Informal intake interview and assessment to determine learner's interest, needs and strength.

Continuous- assume there may be a waiting list.

Adults 19 years who are out of school, wishing to improve their literacy and/or numeracy skills. Adults whose first language is English/ fluent in spoken English, learners must be willing to commit for 3hrs per week in a combination of 1-1, group, peer assisted or computer assisted programs.

DescriptionAdult Learning
Learner-centered, small-group and one-to-one tutoring. Computer assisted literacy offered. Catchment area covers South Etobicoke. Volunteer tutors are matched with learners. We are community based with a community development philosophy based on social determinants of health and health promotion. Holistic approach includes available workshops on health topics relax and refresh program, communications and more.

Some financial assistance with childcare and TTC available based upon interviewee eligibility.

Volunteer opportunities
Love to learn and share a love for learning? We offer tutor training and support in your placement. We are interested in you if you would like to tutor adults in basic math, reading and writing up to a grade nine level, or basic computer skills. Volunteer commitment is for 2 to 3 hrs. once a week for a year.
