The Dental Clinic currently supports the following programs: Healthy Smiles Ontario (Children and Youth) and Ontario Seniors Dental Program (Seniors). You can apply for your children if they:

  • are 17 years of age and under;
  • live in Ontario; and
  • come from a low-income household (see income eligibility requirements here).

Emergency Dental Services

Applicants must be assessed for an emergency need and/or essential dental conditions, and must also attest to financial hardship to access emergency or essential care under the program.

  • restorative services to repair broken teeth and cavities
  • X-rays
  • oral surgery to remove teeth or abnormal tissue
  • anesthesia
  • endodontic services to treat infection and pain
  • limited periodontal services to treat gum conditions and diseases

Prosthodontic services, including dentures, will be partially covered.

You can apply for the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program if you:

  • are 65 years or older;
  • are a resident of Ontario;
  • have an annual net income of $22,200 or less for a single person or a combined annual net income of $37,100 or less for a couple; and
  • have no access to any other form of dental benefits such as private insurance or other provincial, or federal government program.
