Giving Tuesday

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is the world’s largest generosity movement. It was created in 2012 as a simple
idea: a day that encourages people to do good: make someone smile, help a neighbour or
stranger, show up for an issue you care about, or give some of what you have to those in
need.

Since its beginning, Giving Tuesday has grown into a global movement, unleashing the
power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
Giving Tuesday is a time when Canadians, charities, and businesses come together to
celebrate giving and participate in activities that support charities and non-profits; to thank,
help, give, show kindness, and share what they have with those in need.
Every act of generosity counts. Everybody has something to give.

How LAMP services impact the community

LAMP provides vital services in the community that support health and well-being. Whether it is providing access to a primary care physician or nurse practitioner; connecting families in our EarlyON services for children 0-6 years old; providing access to free income tax filing for low income people; caring for community members living with chronic illnesses like diabetes; supporting adults living with mental health challenges; delivering programs that engage those facing isolation; engaging community members navigating substance use challenges; or providing meals to those facing food insecurity, we are here for the community.

Support is not only on Giving Tuesday. You can act now in lots of ways to help us continue to provide vital health care in the community:

Donate now – make a financial donation in support of the work that we do.

Volunteer – share your time and talents with us.

Become a Member – Get involved, become a member of LAMP!

Inspire – tell someone about our services and how they can support.
