Do you know someone who is making a difference in our community? Someone who over the years is a shining example of a caring person who goes the extra mile to volunteer and make their community a better place to live and grow. Not just during COVID, everyday unsung heroes who lift spirits and give people hope. LAMP is looking for these community health champions to add to its honour roll, LAMP 21st Annual Awards of Merit
The deadline to nominate someone in the Etobicoke-Lakeshore Area who deserves to be recognized is fast approaching. LAMP Community Health Centre is looking for people, organizations, service clubs or businesses that have gone the extra mile to make a difference. The purpose of this distinction is to pay tribute to the unsung heroes who deserve our recognition and to celebrate their contributions to build a healthy Lakeshore. This recognition goes a long way to encouraging these community leaders to continue their efforts as community role models for others. It also inspires neighbours to help build a healthy community.
Some of the categories include: Safe Neighbourhoods to live and work, Strong Families & Good neighbours, Arts & Culture, Clean Environment, Safe Affordable Housing, Healthy Affordable Food, Education, Social service Supports, Parks, Recreation & Leisure, History and the Past. The awards put the spotlight on people, groups, institutions and businesses who improve the quality of life for others. Acts of kindness form the bedrock of a strong, healthy community.
Recipients must live, work, volunteer or own a business in the Lakeshore or in communities LAMP serves. To nominate someone simply fill out a nomination form on LAMP’s Facebook Page @LAMPCHEALTHC or www.lampchc.org
and drop it off by Friday September 18 by 5 pm (extended deadline) . Or you can simply write us and tell us why the person you are submitting should be recognized for an Award of Merit. We will need your contact information as well as the contact information of the person selected. Nominees can be neighbours, volunteers, youth, students, teachers, schools, local community leaders, health and social service agencies, community groups, service clubs, businesses, artists, coaches, multi-cultural leaders, or historical groups. The entries are reviewed by LAMP’s Community Relations Committee. All selections are final.
