Advocacy is an important tool to address systematic and structural barriers to good health. We advocate to improve living conditions: personal, social, poverty, community safety, and racism. A healthy community is an active and educated community whereby people can raise their opinion, express their needs, share their concerns and find solutions. We work in partnership to help people and groups identify and take action on issues important to them. By providing information, resources and links, the community gains knowledge and is better informed and equipped to influence positive change. Currently, LAMP is spearheading discussions on affordable housing, transportation, and tenant rights issues in the community.
Primary Areas of Focus include:
- Food Security and Nutrition
- Affordable and Decent Housing
- Community Planning
- Poverty Reduction
- Environmental Issues
- Civic Engagement
- Accessible Recreation
- Community Economic Development
- Lifestyle and Behaviour Change
