National Housing Day is fast approaching. Join us in our call to action to advocate for deeply affordable housing, and portable housing allowances. Housing is a basic necessity and high rents are making it difficult difficult to find an affordable place to live in. Monday November 22, 2021 is National Housing Day and we will be at the Mimico Square from 4 pm – 6:30 pm organizing activities, to raise awareness about the issue.
We are celebrating National Housing Day with trivia and prizes, crochet hearts for the Christmas Tree, home is where the heart is, home is where the start is, cookie houses, housing resources, interviews and more. Draws for food gift certificates. Join us! Just come on by and say hello.

We are also featuring a free online movie Push on Sunday Nov. 21 from 7 pm – 9 pm about the fight for housing rights. From film’s own site the director is “…Investigating why we can’t afford to live in our own cities anymore. Housing is a fundamental human right, a precondition to a safe and healthy life. But in cities all around the world, having a place to live is becoming more and more difficult. Who are the players and what are the factors that make housing one of today’s most pressing world issues?”
Here is the link to sign-up to see the movie over Zoom on Sunday November 21 at 6:30 pm. Join us.
