We are thrilled to announce that CBC’s Metro Morning host David Common has accepted our invitation to moderate our panel of affordable housing experts. It’s going to be an EPIC evening of information. Drop by and see the new Helen Keller Centre drawings and get information on their application process. Participate in challenging activities that will boost your knowledge about solutions to the affordable housing crisis. Look at the drawings of a new supportive housing building going up on the Queensway near the Ontario Food Terminal. See some new models of affordable housing mixed use and other project ideas that would offer rent geared to income homes in this community. Get information on some of the innovative programs Humber is offering and financial and other supports related to the construction and horticultural, landscaping field. Learn about Community Benefits and the Trades and their importance to building complete and healthy communities. Win a 50 dollar food gift certificate. Play some carnival and trivia games to boost your knowledge on how to be a part of the solution

You’re invited to the  LAMP Community Health Centre’s 2023 National Housing Day event in partnership with Humber College, LAHAAG and CP PLanning. This event will be a solutions-focused charrette working to identify and share possible steps forward in addressing the affordable housing crisis. Join us for interactive and educational activities, a panel of esteemed guests including Cheryll Case (CP Planning), Celia Chandler, the Deputy Executive Director of CHFT, Gautam Mukherjee Executive Director of Houselink Mainstay Community Housing, Kegan Harris (Director of Housing Development The Neighbourhood Group), Benjamin Ries Executive Director of the South Etobicoke Community Legal Services, Carla Neto Executive Director of Women’s Habitat of Etobicoke, and a pitch contest where interested individuals or groups can join together to pitch new or interesting ideas to address the housing crisis. There will also be information tables on different models and facets of the affordable housing sector.
