The Good Food Market

Good Food Markets, a mobile and much smaller version of a farmer’s market, bring fresh and affordable produce to communities. In partnership with Foodshare, LAMP offers a Good Food Market year round in the New Toronto neighbourhood. These markets offer vegetables and fruit high in quality, culturally appropriate at affordable prices.

Located in the Lakeshore Village Park, LAMP’s Good Food Market program runs on Wednesdays from 4:00-6:30pm from June to September. You can’t miss us. We are located in the centre of the park. During the colder months, we move indoor to the seniors building, Lerette Manor at 250 12 th Street from 2:30-6:00pm. Everyone Welcome!

During the summer months, when resources are available, alongside the GFM, we set up a pizza oven program. The mobile pizza oven is built each week with the help of our committed volunteers. LAMP provides the fresh topping and pizza dough and residents create their own delicious oven baked pizza.

Community Kitchens

Throughout the year, LAMP hosts Community Kitchens, a model that bringing people together in an informal and relaxed setting to prepare affordable and nutritional meal. In the fall of 2018, LAMP held two community kitchens at various locations in the neighbourhood. Look out for our posters for upcoming programs on the Health Promotion Page or contact Sandra Van, our Health Promoter for more information.

Improving Food Security

As one of the organizing members, LAMP participated, this spring, in the Lakeshore Health Growing Health Living Events. These sessions brought together a broad cross section of people from the Lakeshore community to discuss ways of improving food security for children and youth. Held at HUMBER College this well attended event took participants through Strategic Design Planning sparking new ideas and commitment. Let us know if you want to get further involved in food security initiatives. Contact Sandra Van, Health Promoter at 416-252-9701 ext. 239 or by email sandrav@lampchc.org.

Our Community Needs Your Support

Every little bit helps. You may not think you make much of a difference, but in the words of those who use LAMP CHC’s services:

"Everyday we come to LAMP CHC, life gets a little easier to get back on track. We would have just given up if it wasn’t for them."
